So first off the views are super low so I assume something weird happened.

But comparing this one to your other shorts, I think this one starts off slower. You have a lot more jump cuts at the beginning in your other ones. I think the scene of the beach with text overlay gives off a low effort vibe compared to your other shorts. If you watch it through then it is clear it isn't. But if I were scrolling through the feed decent chance I would see it, assume it was a low effort channel that makes top x lists using random facts they googled with stock footage they ripped from other youtube videos.

So I think probably something weird happened the algo dropped your short for unknown reasons. But I also think the start of the short (the hook) was not as good as your other shorts. If that's actually the case you should see it reflected in the viewed:swiped stat. (Although tbh u might not have enough views for that to give good data)

@gilded olive it's so weird 😦 i can see what you mean for the intro though. i've already uploaded it so many times but do you think i should change it up and try again? maybe give it some more breathing time like a week or two before reuploading?

Unless you are attached to it I would leave it and just move onto the next one.

Your typical shorts usually end up in the 1-10k range which tbh isn't really worth that much. So I wouldnt worry about it. I would focus more on your longform. It's a lot easier to get views with shorts, but a shorts view is worth a lot less than a longform view. Same goes for subs.

hm yeah i'm trying to grow my audience and usually shorts give me 10 subs on avg with some getting me 50 but i see what you mean. big picture it doesn't seem that worth it and might just be a lesson

leaving it and moving on is the correct advice in this case; for future reference, if I were to re-edit this short, I would probably get your face in it right from the start (so people know it's not some faceless AI bullshit, which to be clear your video definitely isn't) , and possibly experiment by changing the video into a 'DOs and DONTs' ; if this vid is underperforming, it could help to add this sort of contrast to increase retention (and add an extra layer of foreshadowing; in this case knowing that for every DO, there will be a subsequent DON'T , and that there will be 3 of each. Also, people love the hearing the negatives, because it adds authenticity and 'pulls back the curtain' as it were; think of how much travel content online tries to paint things as picture perfect, when the reality is often so different)
