Slide the clip around without changing the timeline. For instance I have a clip that needs to fit into a space but it also needs to line up with something. So I fit the clip into the space first then want to move what part of the clip is in that space. Probably frame by frame. Not sure if I'm explaining this right...

Well I’m not sure I see what you’re trying to say but turn off snapping to move frame by frame? Also you can just move the clip to another video input row so to not mess around with any of the other clips

lol yea that's the problem with my question. I mean you place the clip right, and the in and out time of the clip is perfect but you want a slightly later time in the source. Like you need to line up a sound in the middle of your clip to something else without changing the in and out time on timeline. That make sense?
