I was just curious in what thumbnail you think is better

I had to really search to find what was different. And it seems to just be the background? I think the first background is less distracting. As far as the actual thumbnail itself ditch that text box and that text. It looks bad. I think maybe switch the text to a more comic book style font like badaboom and make it look like the text is on the bubble better, maybe some feathering or opacity.

IMO the text needs to be colored, but a strong color that contrasts with the rest of the image.

You definitely don't need to put "Viewer! Look" in the thumbnail

That's what his pose says and it's unusual grammar for text, it makes the thumbnail confusing
