I'm starting a new channel and it's the first time I've ever been asked to complete and ID verification to add links in my video description. Is this something new or am I doing something wrong?

I used channel history option , it says around three months but I got it in couple of days (3-4 days), but I was uploading couple of videos per day.
Wait for 24h , if it fails , just choose channel history option imo.

On my google account it says that the ID verification is valid
Though on youtube it still shows as pending

I guess I just never experienced it since this is an unused channel, all the channel I usually posted to were already old & used
