I've only recently started using OBS a handful of months agao and for my youtube channel so far I've only recorded low framerate/less graphically intense games like pokemon rom hacks. I've been trying to branch out into other games like Minecraft and Yugioh Master Duel but when I try to record game sessions, no matter how hard I try the recording always looks like a powerpoint presentation from 2006 lol. I've tried switching around the settings and runningOBS as an adminstrator but to no avail. I would greatly appreciate any and all help you guys can give me.

I've been messing around with Pokemon ROM Hacks to, but I had the opposite problem I guess, no lag in the footage but the audio was terrible. How was your audio?

but i think i may have a solution, do you use desktop aidio to record game audio?

yes I am doing more practice and wound up recording with audacity for narration and only using OBS desktop for game audio

The audio shouldn't affect the framerate though! Do you have a gpu?

that's great! uh by custom settings do you mean those cqp nvenc, quality stuff? shouldn't need to be too custom to record 1080 60

I use the application audio capture because I didn't want to mess with routing audio using vbcable, because sometimes I record discord calls with friends and that makes routing with vbcable or voicemeeter banana even more complicate

but after fiddling with bitrates and my encoder it's like a gajillion time better
