Just wondering, why do you think you are doing something wrong that you want to niche down?
The only problem with the College niche is, when you're out of college you lose your niche but that's really it
Some YT gurus say the VLOG niche is dead unless you add some value from a specific topic in your vlog (like "here's how I schedule my time to do X and X" to add the productivity niche to your VLOG). But some disagree with this statement, so hum do your own style and experiment

Otherwise your growth looks pretty steady, I had the same number of subscribers as you in a month. Youtube is a grind, gotta keep producing

I had a 2 hour conversation recently with a fitness youtuber who had the same mindset of comparing her growth with someone who has worse videos yet blew up anyway with one video.
We all have different stories and growth, some explode immediately and some explode 2 years later, some may have brought their audience from another platform cough tiktok some may have bought some followers etc...so apart for comparing style, getting inspiration and seeing the 1% improvement per video to do, I wouldn't recommend comparing your growth to other creators in your niche.
Then you must ask yourself why you do Youtube and write it down, and if it's to genuinely help other viewers go through their college life then you are playing the long term game and be prepared to give your content a year or two and minimum 35-60 videos before thinking of quitting.
Your numbers are good, try to visualize that 100 views is more than a classroom, you may have impacted more people in a month than a teacher with a single classroom in a year! That's a lot.

Good luck 🙂

This is some great advice. I’d say my goal currently isn’t solely to give value to other people. I plan to do that, but also once I reach a certain margin I want to create a merch business with my audience. I also definitely agree with your comparison to other channels analysis, but it’s just hard not to. The classroom thing is really helpful though. I appreciate you for helping me out 🙂

I see no reason to narrow down the niche, but the title and thumbnail do not tell a concise story, are you trying to savor college or be productive in college? these two things would have two different audiences and would serve as two different videos. but the conflation of the two makes it to where I am just confused by the video and would not want to click on it

gonna work on a more fluent combo for future vids

Don't narrow down. I think having a college niche is small enough honestly.
