This is just my opinion after playing some PvP TD games

  1. Loop
    You and ur opp are facing an endless horde of enemies, which is stronger over time. There is a limit of how many enemies u can hold on the field. Enemies passes will be tp-ed to the start with the remaining HP. Whoever reaches the limit first loses.
  2. Endless
    You will face an endless horde of enemies. The rule is simple: survive as long as possible. You will get rewards based on how many waves u cleared. There is a leaderboard for top survivors and reward for them after the event ends.
  3. Preparation
    No gold on kill. Gold will be given every wave. Selling a tower gives u 90% value of that tower. Boosters are much less effective. You will have 10s to prepare the defense each wave.

note for endless: u choose the booster to fight against
note for loop: boosters are disabled, there are some booster enemies spawning randomly to both players

I'd really love to have some kind of draft mode where you build your deck (towers and spells) based on the random selections you're getting and face off against others.

If waves were maybe a bit weaker to compensate i think a draft sort of gamemode could really shine

Maybe an event where you're only allowed cards of a certain type or theme? Like for one it'd only be Ranged Towers (and similar, like Archery Scouts) and thematic heroes/spells, and both sides have to have the same types of towers for the event. Perhaps a separate deck-slot/deck-builder attached to the event as well for convenience?

for example: a hardcore/1 life mode, a single wave mode, and available towers/cards mode, and then the Iron Challenge event which is all three

#

possibly all active at the same time so you could do each individual aspect and then head into the 'main one' (likely with more rewards), or just stick to whichever one you prefer

True what I liked about Iron challenge this can be also used as a market tool for hero/tower to test it out the gameplay

I think there being a mix of strict deck events, "you Must have these cards" events and "you can make your deck using these cards and not the others" could be cool

the first would be tests of skill (and use the tower of the week contest winners), the second would as you said let people test out certain heroes/towers/spells, and the third one will force players to be creative with their decks from the limited selection/theme

yeah - force people to pick from only commons, or (when enough cards are added) have themed events where you build a deck using only Linirean cards (not including northerners, maybe including dwarves)

though it'd also be fun to just give some silly decks in the predetermined deck events, just to see how players would adapt to them
