Hi.
I had contact with Wfb about 30 years ago and I collected miniatures more than I played them 🤣

A few months ago I returned to battle games - first Kill Team which I really like, then Wh40k which I didn't like very much, so now I want to try with AoS.

So I bought a Spearhead set to have some Base units and be able to start playing something there, but you know - I'm going to try to play "normal" aos so i heve a question - what would you advise to buy to the Spearhead set?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Rules update is dropping tomorrow, so give us like a day to digest and we’ll get back to you

A good place to start is the summonables. If you’re just looking for what’s meta, wait until the rules drop yes, but generally speaking, having skeletons, dire wolves, and/or a unit of zombies gives you the base infantry for the faction. Just buy what you like and what you want to see on the tabletop if you’re just playing them for fun

I would buy some blood knights and barrow knights/guard with some skeletons and a centrepiece

# quiet whale Summonables? What

Summonable is a keyword on Deadwalker and Deathrattle, it makes them interact favorably with Deathly Invocation and all that fun stuff

Then they must have taken it off in 4th, that’s how it worked in 3rd

Ah

that would make sense

The distinction mattered because there were some Deathrattle/Deadwalker units that did not interact with Deathly Invo back then, but I guess they all do now, so it’s no longer necessary

What he said ☝🏿

I’m using 3.0 lingo but basically all the cheap chaff infantry that you can summon back half of. Great for board control and objective grabbing

@languid mica If you want to go heavier into Skeletons then the Barrow Army box is good and comes with army book. The new Spearhead that isn't out yet is basically a smaller version of that too, though it would give you 40 old Skeletons and only 10 Barrow Guard. If you want to go more into Vampires, the Vampire Lord on nightmare steed is a fantastic new model, but a bit pricey

I don't see any big changes... At least in points.
