Pirates of the Skyrabeans !
So anyhoo I'll start things up by asking what you guys think about the Ironclad... it's quite a steep point hike from the Frigates... and can't do the infamous charge strike first
Anyone have some in your lists and what do you use them for ...
So far all my list building I always would rather have a Frigate than an Ironclad...
ironclad's built to be your anvil ship that you push onto a main point
it also has really good synergy with the admirals AOA order
But is it worth it point wise ?
i mean, 660 points to, on average, take out a unit's worth of infantry every battleround?
average 19.33 wounds on 6+ armor, 11 wounds on targets with 3+, 7 on save 2+s?
Is that the output ? Even when in melee?
that's just the shooting, because realistically you probably shouldn't be using the ironclad's melee?
8 4 4 0 1 isn't a good melee profile by any stretch of the imagination
That's right... but then how do you use it as the Anvil aforementioned ^^ ?
So I'm thinking, to really be efficient you need to crew it with an Admiral and a EdrinHarnessmaster.
We are now at the 780 points mark...
Quite à signifcant chunk
i don't think you'd really want an endrinmaster
you'd want to use either chaff like arkanauts or hammers like melee endrinriggers to keep the ironclad safe
Hm I see
But melee Skywardens are pretty fragile imo... so are the arkhanauts... 4+ armor save aint all that much but buys you a round I guess?
Weirdly I've found arkanauts to be relatively durable. Especially for 100 points combo'd with an admiral's increased control. I've caught opponents offgaurd with a counter charge to take an objective with them
Agreed on the offense, their +1 to hit anything on an obj is pretty darn good
Btw I meant to ask... that ability doesn't specify what type of attacks.
Does this mean shooting attacks as well?
The ability has the Fight phase logo on it but the text doesn't specify that it's limited to that phase ...
It's for shooting and combat
As far as ironclad, I've found that's really my big damage dealer when it comes to tanky units like stormfiends. Again, with the admiral's +1 attack for a boat and a skyhook and free all out attack, 3 attacks at 2+2 with d6 damage hurrttsss
It does suck rolling 1s though lol. Ive gone back and forth with skyhook and cannon for the reliable d3+1 damage
Yea the extra rend for monsters makes me take skyhooks everydays for every ships haha
I feel like monsters are everywhere in all armies
So for sure you're gonna have targets for it
Finally got myself a new officer for my growing fleet! I have been told this guy is somebody I should be bringing in most of my lists
I plan on grabbing him eventually. But I run admiral, khemist, and endringger w/ harness
A khemist is next on my list for sure
After some playing against Caster heavy lists I am of the mind to forego any Dispel option and just "Dispel by shooting" haha
thoughts on a vanguard box + 10 thunderers for a 1k list?
So 2-3 rumor engines for them, Harpoon, trident and possibly a hand-gun?
Ok 1 of them was for a 40k kill team.
A review of the new rules & warscrolls for the Kharadron overlords coming with the new generals handbook season of Age of Sigmar.
Is there an official KO disc?
Its super ultra dead
Eh the one I’m in seems pretty steady with the posts
Yeah? Can you link me the server? Guess im on a dead one.
Hi there ! I’m getting the old spearhead along with an aether-khemist and a codewright and wondering where to go from there up to 1.5 and eventually 2k
Funnily enough the new spearhead is a pretty good box that complements the existing one. I’m new as well and started with the old box, so I’ve been eyeballing the new as my next purchase.
Speaking of noob questions: can I park a boat in front of some dudes and allow them to shoot through its base? Or does it block line of sight?
My reasoning is that since it’s flying I should be able to see.
I like the funky combo that’s going right now so I might lean into that and buy a drekki box
Wish it came with skywardens
random question. i recall reading somewhere that Scourge of Ghyran Gunhaulers are reinforcable (New Recuirt and Wahapedia say so too), but i recently downloaded the latest KO Scourge of Ghyran cards and it doesn't seem to appear anywhere? am i dreaming things or is there a source?
What might be good to add to this? What I have so far
Friend thought he had a frigate but turned out to be an ironclad
So now I’m getting a frigate too to do the spearhead and then realized that I’m only 800 points off from an army lol
I'm hoping someone chimes in as I'm currently new to KO myself, and would love to peep th insight 😅
I imagine you've found this by now, but in case here:
Thanks. Yeah, I also found it hidden away on the core downloads
Seems baller with grandiose fuselage
