This list got third in a small tournament in New Zealand last week. Is this as absurd as it looks and did it only place well because of how small the tournament was? Or is this actually feasible?
I am new and just bought my first KO as my intro to AoS so I am trying to mull over where to go from my spearhead.

ships throw out very very little damage for the points spent, they're amazing support units (e.g. frigates delivering two six-manunits of Endrinriggers and giving them Strike First is pretty brutal)
just played a doubles and another KO list with three boats had neither the firepower to shoot people off, nor the presence to hold objectives

The thing you have to decide is how melee vs how Shooty you wanna be
