#What Would You Buy Right Now (For SCE 4E)?

Hey, all. 🙂
I haven't played Warhammer in forever, but the new 4E trailer and info has me pretty stoked. I know I will play 4E, and I know I will probably play SCE.

I want to get a head start on building/painting/etc. so I want to buy some stuff. But what would you consider safe to buy after the Liberator redesign that was unveiled today?
I'm a bit worried about other stuff getting redesigned or certain units getting phased out.

It looks like the Spearhead box is probably still worthwhile, good value, and those look like mostly the newer-style sculpts.
What else would you consider safe to pick up?
Thanks for any help! spicystormcast

Rule of cool is always king. We also don't know anything worthwhile for 4th so far so I would start slow and see what you can find

Buy anything you can get at a discount

#

We have no idea what the rules will be

#

So now is the time to go deal hunting as compared to MSRP

Ok thanks, @civic plover and @neat elbow .

Definitely will stick to deals and such.
I'm not overly worried about what rules will be or what will be tier 1 or whatever.
More just slightly was worried about buying something that may get rotated out for newer sculpts or rotated out permanently, as most folks say SCE have a lot of redundancy.

Yeah they won't rotate anything out

#

Some sculpts are getting updated

#

But the old ones will still be usable

JUST STAY AWAY FROM CASTIGATORS

#

they'll make you sad XD

Is there an easy way to see what was released in what year?

That way I could stick moreso to buying newer things that are more likely to not be re-sculped anytime soon?

Castigators only work if you run like... 20+ of them

#

Which is a big ask

1st gen Stormcast are blocky

#

We call them "fatcast" for a reason

#

2nd gen and 3rd gen are sleeker

But Annihilators are kinda bulky too though, right, and are pretty new?

#

But generally I do get what you mean. Some of the older ones are huge.

By way of perspective, this is an original 1st edition Liberator compared to the one they're releasing with 4th edition

#

C H O N K

#

I think Liberators, Judicators, Dracothian Guard, Paladins, and bunch of the Heroes are 1st ed

#

I don't think Dracothian Guard will be updated this time around though

Use AOS lexicanum to see when models were released

I have 6. They have never failed ti let me know WHY they cost 90 points

neat elbow
#

It's because of the random number of attacks

#

You need to field them in volume so that small sample size doesn't screw you over

#

I don't know whose bright idea it was to give them D3 shots, but screw that person lol

And there you have it

#

Now bear in mind some of those models aren’t getting dumped, just updated

#

For example the Liberators

These four are most likely to get refreshed, not squatted.

I’m willing to bet a lot of the Sacroscent chamber is going to return eventually, but as something closer to the new aesthetic of the Stormcast.

Nice. Thanks for the info. 🙂
Still kinda learning which Chamber is which for everything. 👍

I'm genuinely surprised none of the Hunter chamber got hit, but I think the raptor Longstrikes are too popular.
