While sylvaneth definitely have some nuance to them, any army is fine to start out with. A big part of the hobby is finding an army that you enjoy building and painting.
They are also one of the easier armies to paint! You get a lot of mileages out of washes and drybrushing on them 😄
I was considering buying "The blades of Belthanos", but I saw a video on youtube that said that it might not be playable in age of sigmar 4th edition, and as a new player this makes me really cautious because then I cant help but think if I buy any product if I only have 6months to assemble, paint and play with them. Are there some units that are evergreen?
the models will 100% be evergreen
I think what they were saying is the regiment of renown (the special rules that specific formation of units have when fielded together) may not be playable in 4th, the units individually will definitely be playable in aos4(when that eventually happens, a year or two from now.)
it's a safe buy either way
Do they get another set of rules to field together then or?
From one of the new books there's a special army formation, it's not just like they get it as is, I'm not super sure how they work myself as I've not looked into them
