I recently bought the new slaves to darkness box and when looking at the warscroll of the chaos chosen, the book does not seem to specify a max unit size so can the unit be a big unit of 10 or only 2 units of 5? And if it can be either which would you all advise would be better? like the pros and cons of going 2 small units or 1 big unit. Thanks in advance for any sort of information!

i dont play slaves but you can download the AOS app that lets you build armies and look through all that
also with units
if you go with one unit of 10 guys, you have limited spacing as they must move together. the main pro here is that you can attack with all 10 models at once where as if you split them into two you would have to attack with the first 5, let your opponent attack back and then you conclude with the final 5

For Chaos Chosen you’ll want 1 unit of 10 guys pretty much always as far as things go right now
They can be 5 guys, but 10 is quite good

Default unit size is 5
the way you increase this is by "reinforcing" a unit
as a rule, you can only reinforce a limited amount of units per army
and only once
however if a unit is battleline it can be reinforced twice
25.3.2 has more detail on this
and the battlepack will tell you the limits you have for reinforcing
but in the case of the chosen, if they are battleline (which they can become) you can do 5>10>15
Oh also the book will specify unit size, just not on the warscroll
there is a large table in the book that lists the pitched battle profiles
this will list unit size and any other tags like battleline, leader, single etc

@drifting onyx so I checked out that pitched battle profile and I see what you mean…but for chaos chosen it said battle line in a host of the ever chosen army. I don’t know what that means 😂

in matched play, you need minimum 3 battleline, so a lot of factions have some way of turning cool units battleline

Ah okay I was wondering what battle line meant too okay thanks. So there is the default battle line units that are always battleline and then those few special ones

Right now we also have a seasonal rule where all battleline that are below a certain wound and have no mount gain special rules
buuuut that's a whole other thing you don't need to worry about right now imo

There's a part on how to assemble your list as well, and all the enhancements and stuff
this might be a smidgen easier to navigate compared to a pdf or paper
