#New Seraphon Player looking for list building advice

Hello! I’ve come into a pretty sizable bit of Seraphon and am having trouble making a cohesive list. I like to play defensively and tend to be reactive to my opponent. Any suggestions from experienced Seraphon players are welcome!

For the models you have, swap out the spells and chameleons with the skinks and fire away!

You can run less guard and knights also, replace with your second bastiladon with solar pew pew

In general, castle up. Slann in the middle, smaller heroes in the realm shaper(. Do you have one??)

I’ve only played a game or two so far and I guess I need to learn how to screen my Realmshaper better. The two main opponents I have are Ironjawz and Tzeentch and a Mawkrusha absolutely ruined my day.

While remembering your aura ranges

Yeah, your heroes are squish and at the same time extremely essential

Once that Astrolith is inside the realm shaper the 12” range is quite huge. Cause it measures from the edge of the realm shaper model

#

Stick the slann on one side, the engine with magic tome( making it a wizard) on the other. Then the slann can cast its spells through the engine, + 6” range. Not many areas on the board you can’t reach

#

If you take kroak, play him aggressively( providing he has guard near by). Don’t be afraid to move forward so you can catch as many units as you can in his spell AoE range

#

Just be careful of a first turn alpha against him. Lots of armies have shooting or things like mawcrushers that can kill him in a single turn.

#

Super fun army. Just requires lots of planning ahead

Remember that you can allout defence in both shooting and combat.

Yeah definitely have noticed that. On paper it’s just difficult for me to visualize what everything is supposed to accomplish

All good. It’s a more complicated army then many

#

It takes a while to learn the ranges of abilities and auras, when they activate and what needs to be screened etc

#

But you can play it defensively like you wanted.

#

Just don’t forget you need to score points to win a game, so at some stage units need to move out of the castle

#

Most importantly, have fun. The army takes a bit of learning. But you’ll get there!

Btw t helps to play against other armies too, if you don't have others in local meta or that you simply know of, TTS is a great alternative.

Also check out Caleb Hastings on YouTube’s. His videos might help understanding how to use your auras , buffs and how important they are

And getting markers for aura ranges, or at least rulers in pre-fixed aura size, helps a ton

#

Can buy those or make them rather cheapily. Literlaly get a ruler and trim it down to say 9''. Now you got aura stick

I have a good 3-4 x 12" rulers that I use all the time for seraphon

most of Seraphon's buff's are 12"

there you go :D. And having those helps a ton. I have similar for most of my units movement, makes the gameplay sooo more smooth.
