Got this idea in the spur of the moment when I was showering and sadly found out the idea of adding a tennis racket isn't that original, still think its worth posting though.

My inspiration for this weapon was to combine the sandman plus the way that you can use your arm in ultrakill to parry your own projectiles for style.

The weapon is meant to reward scout players for being skilled & creative enough to hit 'Trick-Shots'.

This would be a bit too hard to actually pull off
And the downside is pretty much meaningless compared to getting a free long range projectile

Think about it. You are a scout, you need to weave, double jump around to dodge and so does your enemy and now you also need to land a projectile switch to primary shoot it switch back to melee in time, time your swing to actually hit it and then actually hit the enemy

I mean what is the point of hitting it back then bc there is no way you hit that from ranges where your primary wouldn't be better

And even for a pro this is going to be difficult

Someone else had a tennis racket suggestion before, I suggested doing richocets off the wall for a damage bonus

I would also recommend that here because unless the projectile is super slow the base weapon swap speed is way too slow for this to be possible

you would have to increase the holster and draw speed but on scout that's extremely fucking tasty and would have knock on effects

#

rather than making it a constant stream of decisions which orients scouts entire playstyle around "smack the ball!!" minimize it to just one action

V1's combination moves and constant weapon swapping is good for making a player feel powerful in a single player setting but doesn't translate well into a PVP setting

#

And especially when you're trying to transplant the principles of that kind of game design when onto a game with preexisting, completely different principles
