You can enable different filters in the chat that allow you to customise it to just the information you want to see. Sadly, Medic's command that updates his teammates on how close he is to having a full uber gets filtered out aswell. I hope there could be an exception to this (and maybe the Ubercharge me! command) since the lack of this directly harms the communication and gameplay. I like to have the voice commands disabled so that player messages don't get burried under a spam of Thanks!, Medic! or Incoming! but I'd still like to be able to coordinate with our Medic and vice versa, if I'm playing as Medic I'd like to be assured that when I inform my team of my uber, they actually see it and prepare themselves to make a push
#Make Medic's Ubercharge update voice command bypass a filter

makes no sense to exclude what is obviously a voice command from the voice commands filter
As someone who excludes voice commands i know why i exclude them
I dont like the spam, but this is something that should actually appear in chat no matter what
Also worth saying that its great they added a more streamlined way of communicating pushes with your team without the need of using the vc (simmilar to other new features like spy reload, spy walk, medic seeing your clip and ammo), but its a shame another quality of life festure just negates that and makes gameplay inconsistent
I think the change would be baneficial for everyone
the entire point is that if a person doesnt want to see ANYthing of the voice command sort - they filter it out
i think being able to mute specific voice commands in chat would make more sense, even if i get where ur coming from having a few specific commands bypass the filter looks weird
cuz i do agree its annoying when the text chat is filled up with with the few Funny Lines people like to spam
Idk if this type of absolutist way of thinking really helps with the problem of conflicting features, like id like to be able to use both of these without putting me in a disadvantage
Some voice commands (especially ones people use the most) dont really need to appear in chat because you can clearly hear them in the background (Help!, Spy!, Sentry ahead! Etc.) the uber notification for other player doesnt have that unless youre literally at the full charge (with the good ol I'm fully charged! voice line) everything before 100% is only expressed by medic grumbling under his nose or giggling
Ubers are one of the fundamental elements of the territory control and power dynamics of tf2 and while it's great that this mod pushes for it to be more controlled and easier to engage with more depth to how its organised, it sucks knowing people can just tick it off and be blind to that altogether
Therell be people who do that unintentionally
Although whats also worth mentionjng that at the end of the day its not that big of a deal, im not sure if most players even know you can enable filters in chat lol
Only reason i found out about it was trying to fix messages in my chat not appearing
Maybe in the list of things you can tick off, if you press oj the voice commands option it opens up one more list to the right of the box for you to tick off what you dont want to see
If someone doesnt want to see how much uber your nearby medic has then itll be on them
