A hypothetical engineer melee that focuses on the construction of buildings and let's engineers play closer to the front lines. Basically, another crack at the gunslinger niche without gunslinging.

-30% inital building cost.

  • Boosting a building on construction/redeployment also repairs that building
(Usually, buildings on construction start at 1 health and regenerate to their max health in relation to their construction.)

  • Alt-Fire also swings your wrench. Hitting a friendly building with your Alt-Fire will apply overheal your building. The health:metal ratio and the amount of health given per swing is the same as its repair rate.

! Overheal works the same as it does on players (150% max health for 15 seconds). sapping or moving a building will remove all overheal applied.

  • 25% increase in building upgrade cost
(250 metal per level from 200)

  • 25% increase in repair cost
(3 health for every metal from 4 health for every metal.)

This lets you place place level one buildings closer to fights like more offensive building concepts without having to give them cheap and disposable. It also shares some DNA with the Wrangler in allowing you to make a full level three tankier, though it's not nearly as effective with more defensive engineers.

can't pick up my buildings while holding the wrench 0/10 literally unplayable

If this is supposed to incentivize more aggressive play I think it would be more interesting if building upgrades started cheaper then got more expensive instead of just being more expensive overall

so yeah 100%

I made lv1s cheaper. The match should work out to them being roughly the same as stock level ones cost wise (maybe a little more expensive? But I think that's fine given they'll reach max health way sooner than stock lv 1s)

Pretty good but idk how fun overheal on buildings would be to fight
Maybe adding a small cooldown on it would be a good idea ~3-5s

i just think the overheal shouldn't be as easy to hold up as it's normal health bc then it's just a 50% increase in health

And if an engineer did try to turtle, they're running out of metal due to the less efficient repairs (and by extension more expensive overheal)

Not a bad idea, though this feels more like a better designed jag than something that occupies the gunslinger’s niche.
