Just looking for people to play against that can help with matchups and give pointers

In some games it feels like im in complete control of the match like this replay
4MUJNL7FS
But against some people i feel helpless sometimes like this replay
UWDNH6DPS
Just wanna know what i couldve done better against sagat it felt like whenever i would try to mash dp he would just get a free combo
like is the way im playing in the first game the same and the sagat player just a bit better?

I'm not a Ryu player so I can't really give you any advice on character specifics but in terms of each interaction in that sagat match I don't think you played particularly worse mechanically, seemed like you just guessed wrong a bunch of times and died. Sometimes those rounds happen, just go through the replay and every interaction just do replay takeover and make different choices, see what would've happened if you did different stuff, efficient way to learn matchups imo.

Outside of that though your entire demeanour was completely different in those matches, particularly in round 2 vs sagat compared to how you were playing the mirror.
You seemed WAY more confident in the Ryu mirror, the only time you ever backed off against the other Ryu was to give him just enough space to jump so you could DP him, to set up a spacing trap or a shimmy, or when you were in burnout and literally the second you got your meter back you walked up and threw him like you owned the stage.
Against Sagat in round 2 it didn't look like you even wanted to be in the same match as him, you got the knockdown in to denjin charge and then literally walked back nearly the entire length of the stage, then you get a knockdown with drive reversal and dashed up then just started walking back, then you got a backthrow and your first instinct was to just walk back again.
It felt like your attitude towards the Ryu was that he didn't even belong in the same match as you and your attitude towards the Sagat was that you didn't belong there with him. There's nothing wrong with backing off and giving up space for a purpose, which is the energy in the Ryu match, but against that Sagat it was the polar opposite and thus you never had an opportunity to get your offense going.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's just a result of familiarity and you've just played against Ryu a bunch more than you've played against Sagat. In general though you're playing mad nice for someone who's only been playing a few weeks.

Idk if others will agree with that and I dunno how useful that is, sorry it's not more actionable, but that's what I took from comparing those two replays. Essentially to me it just looked like a lack of matchup familiarity and you were uncomfortable. And maybe round 1 had you a bit rattled.
