Hey guys, just bought street fighter 6 a couple days ago and I was wondering where to start when learning the game. I came from Tekken and was willing to try street fighter through my friends. I did do a couple of combo trials for some characters that I liked like akuma, marisa and ken. I didn't play online yet because I was intimated because it SF6 is my first 2d fighter. Hope someone can help me! Thanks!

Hey! SF6 isn't my first FG, but it's the first time I'm playing it. What I used to do with other games was to play mostly at first with people I knew (from internet or IRL), to release the pressure. I was also playing rank at the same time, but I found my games against players I knew way more efficient, especially because you care less about the results, and more about how you fight. Also, playing against people who know your playstyle helps to stop getting bad habits (like using the same unsafe move).
I'm myself looking for people who'd like to improve together, so tell me if you want to give it a try, I'll send you a message 🙂
And as for what you can do alone, I'd say looking at good players videos and analyze what moves they use, when, and why, should help you a lot. You don't need to know all your options from the start, but you need to know your best options, and be able to use them when they're needed.
I installed the game yesterday, I'd love to meet newbies to go into private lobbies and try things out :)
Hi, I am a Newbie too and if you guys want to play and improve, ping me!
