So i just ranked up to d3 and i'm losing a lot more often and wondering what i could work on to improve. I could learn more setups or optimize more my combos but i want to work on my neutral more cause i dont really need more damage or mix ups i think for now.
If you wanna check some replays my cfn is the same as discord and i'm open to go on VC and play each other for more in depth tips.

Hey! I only looked at one game so far but picked up a few tendencies I noticed. Happy to continue looking at more games if you feel like this game is a bad example of your normal play. I tried to be as critical as possible but just take this as a starting point for your improvement, I could be wrong about some of the things I brought up.

i noticed after you said it but yeah i tend to extend my combos with drc a lot so i need to chill with this

#

and i'll try to play more defense and wait for my opponent to commit to things, maybe it was me being tilted on some games but i prefer to be proactive and sometimes can just commit to a lot of things to get my opponent to respond

I like trying to give advice and I just made this template so I wanted to use it lol. I think being proactive is perfectly fine, it's just some of your options were either really expensive (burning you out), really committal (meaning you were going for a hard read that loses to other options), or a little too much autopilot (pressing buttons in range trying to whiff punish).

Another thing is that your rounds went by really fast. There's 99 seconds in a round but I think some of them ended super early. You went from wanting to be proactive to forcing the issue against the opponent. Which is fine, but you can't try to force a brawl 100% of the time in higher ranks

i see, i'm not used to playing slow so i struggle when i try to play proper neutral but i guess i just need to spam games playing like that to get used to it

#

and since akuma has a lot of things to stuff my opponents approach i guess i should play like that more

Yeah, the top tier pros are good at being defensive and know exactly when to turn it up into offense. That playstyle and neutral is really hard to do, but it's good to improve that at least a little bit. I think there's a couple things you can work on that's a little easier to do compared to that though.

Try it out for a bit, and if you have a specific replay you want me to watch next time just let me know! I'm also good with picking another random replay some other time!
