Hello, im new to fighting game, and currently hit gold with Manon, been enjoying the game despite frustation from lose streak (who doesnt) and inconsistent gameplay

Mainly want to take step by step to improve, mostly because im fairly new to this genre, and feeling overwhelmed with things i need to learn

General, specific, or whatever advice are needed, and thank you so much for helping

Well, mostly opening defense, ive been relying too much on my special move to hit my opponent, been told that i dont use my normals enough

My gameplan is basically hit people with special then steal command grab, or 1-2 hit then command grab, pretty monotone i know, and when people know to counter this im basically clueless what i must to do

so one of the things as a grappler you need to get used to is getting used to using buttons and using your movement to get close to your opponent

as a grappler people do not want to be near you

#

because you can just snatch them up with a command grab

#

so by moving up and using your buttons

#

its less risky as your opponent cannot just block and punish your specials

#

they'll be forced to walk back or poke you out with fireballs in order to keep you away

What should i do when im facing opponent who can control space? Lets say they use fireball to keep me away and when i try to jump in, they anti airing me, so basically i cant get close, ive been struggling when facing Ken, Ryu, or even Ed and Luke

generally you should just be parrying fireballs and walking forward

however there is tech for certain fast fireballs

#

like spinning into corner carry combo

look into trying to use her st.mp as your starter move

#

reason is

#

you can hit confirm st.mp into cr.mp st.bhp qcf.mp

#

and if they block st.mp

#

you can drive rush into strike command grab mixup

#

the mixup is after you st.mp drive rush you go into drive rushed cr.mp

#

then you either command grab

#

or do a second cr.mp into qcb.mk

#

alternatively if they get hit by the drive rushed cr.mp you go into st.bhp qcf.mp

thats the fundamentals of her offense
