loosing more than winning when starting out is normal
who do you play, which input schheme do you use, have you played other FGs seriously?
what did you read and watch for guides so far?
did you do the ingame tutorial?

I ask this, so I have a rough idea where you are.
the most important things when starting out are pokes and antiairs.
this stop people from jumping in on you and just walking in on you

then you need to learn to identify vastly unsafe moves, that you an just block and punish
a lot of people will be antsy and just wanna get in, these moves are often (but not always), unsafe
watching replays with frame data on helps identfying that

input scheme:
modern or classic?

#

also, we usually recommend focussing on one char, because it speeds up learning

#

do you know your AA, poke and BnB for both chars?

how is MK 11 in inputs?
are you confident in doing quarter circles and DP motions?
you mentioned you drop a lot

Not really confident in doing quarter circle motions

#

Mk11 is pretty easy

right, you have 2 layers when learning a game
learning what to do
learning how to do it

modern makes the 2nd step easier.
you then can focus on what to do.
still, spent daily traning time on doing quarter circle and dp motion, because optimal modern play requires motions and it prepares you to switch to classic if you want to

this is Kens simple guide, try to implement the pokes, AA and 1 BnB from there

if you go modern, you can do DP for all your AA duty, if you stay on classic, I recommend focussing on cHP
