If you see your eggs disappearing, then you are either aiming too low or are not drawing your bow long enough for it to get its full range

the projectile dropoff isnt consistent across distance in the same way normal bow mechanics are

most of the projectiles have the hitbox offset from the visual render (rubiks cube is the 1 hit with this issue the least from what ive seen)

and in pubs it's not even skillful if you have bad enough nons/are solo

you can go 30+ n 0 and still lose cuz ur nons speedrun dying

different skills and fully gutting n overhauling an existing skill on the same server are 2 different things

you're actively punished for being good at normal bow in gw and vice versa because of habitual differences in aiming, the same TYPE of skill shouldnt be so polarizing on the same server

I dislike mm bow for the same reason, angling it like a sw or ctf player where u habitually aim higher to hit over potential block placements misses unless point blank because there's 0 dropoff to it and having pvp'er or gw player habits of charging the bow can cause issues if the murderer is competent enough to use speed

bow should be at least MOSTLY consistent across games on the same server

If ya really wanna keep up the argument that skills from this game don’t translate to others, I started out playing gw as a turf wars main on Mineplex a little before it shut down. Both on bedrock and java. The aiming was different on both. Just a matter of aiming higher on one than the other. Both in turf wars and starting out on gw, I did just fine

fun fact ! spawnpoints, or alignments as I call them, aren't random. they're set based on if you were the first/second/third etc. to enter that map. As the only gravity main on switch, I have to know this because of the absolute lack of computing power present in nintendo's finest. I have three alignments memorized at a minimum, up to five on some maps. The gravity community has been begging hive to standardize spawnpoints for literally years, but they've never listened to anything we've said 🫠

I'm actually pretty torn on the standardized spawnpoints issue. I think it adds a lot of skill that would go otherwise unnoticed, but at the same time, it favors any censored on pc because their maps actually load, not to mention that it would just be a good quality of life change.
As to the game getting boring: while I do agree that there should be more maps, if you get bored, you can learn skips and techniques. If i had to make a top 10 list of the most mechanically difficult things I've done in videogames, gravity skips would be all ten. I think it's the best game on this server because of the depth that it contains, a depth that I don't think any other game comes close to

not at all, i prefer proper long-range bow duels, close range is less about aim and more about always moving and spamming

if they used default projectiles it'd be fine but the custom ones de-render from so close you cant even see how u missed lol

gw feels less about skill more about instinct/repetition because of that, you actively cant see where the projectiles fall from a certain distance and most of them have the hitboxes slightly offset from the visuals too

i liked gw when it was an ltm in like 2020, it used vanilla egg entites so they didnt have buggy rendering
