Having a fine tip sharpie or a lineart pen for the lineart will contrast with colored markers, plus if you add any sort of shading it makes it 10x cleaner and more realistic as a piece of art
Here’s a piece of art I did a WHILE back with watercolor markers and you can see the lineart just makes it so much cleaner, my watercolor skills aren’t quite there yet but this was a few months ago
