Me when I fail to match my edit to the style of the original skin, and then get mad when people simply point out that I did that:

I will say that shading flat is valid, especially when starting out, but that doesn’t make you incorrect

Shading is incredibly important, as it gives shape to the colors you’ve blocked out, but before you learn to carve out that shape through shading, shading flat is perfectly acceptable

I remember back in the day I used to make edits of a Link skin where I made the whole thing flat colors to match the Barebones texture pack, and I’d edit different outfits into it. It was a good starting point for me and I think it can be helpful if you genuinely want to improve later

The problem here is that this person doesn’t really seem to want to improve at all. You were 100% correct in pointing out that they didn’t match the style to the original, and I don’t think you said anything remotely offensive. Literally all you did was point out a few details, and they decided to get defensive over nothing 😭🙏
