idk if its just me but the build battle themes are all too specific like "queen" when it could be smth like "royalty", they really could updaye the themes once in a while

i really feel like they miss on these good theme opportunities

heres the explanation:

1. if they did royaltly, multiple themes would no longer be there. King, Queen, Crown, Throne, are all good examples of this. Coming up with 100s of easy to make very broad themes are hard. For ex, if you classified food or animal you'd lose like 50 of their themes. They only have 200ish. Same with structures. They technically have broad themes for all of these. Food and animal are both themes, and throne you can really make work with anything you want royalty based.
   Most of the detailed themes do have broad themes alongside them, they are just there to give more options.
2. The playerbase is young and simplification is usually best, I didn't even know what an oasis was until a few years into playing, which is one of the themes.

You could say that a castle theme could just be called Fortified Structures and have that as a theme and you would have more options but chances are most people are gonna leave because they don't understand.

and on a final note, they do update themes. There used to be way less, there was a whole new batch released with like 30 of them and there has been other instances where they add more in the past.

we're literally artists who've spent years trying to be good at this game and actually gaining main minecraft skills and talents that are not only hard to achieve but are applicable outside of hive which should make it an even more competitive space, for good or worse.

but I think it all boils down to the fact that theres only about 50 players that are professional who actively play now, so you don't want to start anything or you lose basically everyone. The community is too tight-knit.

223 losses and 45 wins is even considered good here, stats are void here if you can't whip up a good build and thats what people care about. This isn't a pep talk, It's almost impossible to tell here how good someone is off stats.

The best statistic is your meh-love ratio per game if I wanted to try and figure that out without seeing your builds.

Not sure, I haven't used BB replay in awhile (Besides events like Silksong)
But during the time I did (1-2 months ago) its a no for me

I guess there are a few things to note
= Some replays have different expiration dates, one says 2 weeks, another says a month, etc.
= Replays does not save the time (Day/night) set on each build plot
The only way to "fix" that is to change the default time, which is only in customs, plus its only 1 time setting
= Not sure with this one, but seems skulls & banners don't save their intended type in replays, like banners will be white (or black) in replays

I have lost many builds to this, my friends and I did megateams a while back and I wanted to make stuff off them but the replays were all gone. When pontyboy was looking for some builds we did while I helped him max, almost all of the replays did not exist anymore. I gave him the verified id's for them a few days before he checked and they had all stopped working when he got to them.

Basically, you have to do it fast or they risk deletion.

The timestamp on the replay refers to when the replay was recorded, I don't believe we display the expiration dates to the player

i was trying to look through my build battle replays (specifically the game where i hit level 30 and got 1st place)

But i couldnt find it

almost no build battle replays showed up through my won games list

but a bunch of build battle replays were saved in all games list

my theory is that theres a bug with build battle games that you win? (not saving)

also I found that the build battle replays don't capture the voting/winning phase of the game -- only the building phase

that might be a bug too?

not sure if you can do this, but is it possible to setback my xp by 100 xp from my current xp of 43,500xp (so i could like remax the game and recapture the clip?) totally understand if u cant

it sucks sometimes but it bans a lot more bad than it does good from what it seems like
hard to complain when the moderation used to be so much worse, they've improved quite a bit.
i do feel like its slightly unnecessary though since they are now hand-moderating, but I assume its to stop anyone seeing it to begin with even though that's a lot more risky. It used to just be people doing it over and over and over again, so I'm not exactly viewing it the same.

I loved playing speed builders a lot and learning all the builds, now it's gotten stale I feel like that's more of why. What motivates you? You still play a ton

speedbuilders is an extremely seperate skillset
its really repetitive, so even if you LOVE IT, eventually you are going to want a break. Probably sooner rather than later.

I am a speed builder, (yes i know they both have the same terms) but I dont speedrun the same builds over and over again - I create. I am a build battle main, not speedbuilders main. It's entirely art. This is very similar to asking why a painter never stopped painting. It's how I express myself. I mostly do customs currently, just for a plot and a time limit. Blank canvas, not playing for the game aspect just the space to create and ability to do whatever I like with it in replay after.

And I have burnout too- in fact I'm burnt out right now. But I will never stop loving to create, no matter how burnt out I become with breaks I will always bounce back. Speedbuilders on the other hand? I can't tell you. You can always enjoy a game, but the dopamine you get from it will only decrease the more you do it if you reach your peak. That's not very possible when it comes to build battle, there is no peak. The sky is the limit.

Honestly I'm just surprised they haven't seperated the leaderboards for the two games, it's day and night difference. The only similarity is the ability to place blocks and win for it.
