In most cases, no. Quality is always over quantity. If you can have both of those, then that's great and you should always go for it. But most of the time when new speedbuilders start out trying to have more, it ends up just looking messy and unrecognizable.

You need to balance it. If your main build looks messy and you've got an extra 2 minutes, don't go off and start making terrain in the background, fix your centerpiece. This goes for the terrain and background too, you got an extra minute? Don't go overboard and leave holes all over your spammy terrain because you were trying to hurry.
Add little details with more meaning, like bushes with lots of texturing and detailed rocks.

Eventually, you will have time to do everything you want in a build, an impressive background and well-made centerpiece.

its primarily why hypixel on java has a more fair voting system, the average age of a player is probably older

anyways its like what eli said, its more proud to make high quality focused builds than just putting half effort into all your builds surroundings just to finish as many rounds as possible as easy as possible hence the quality over quantity

Not to mention, I wasn't always good at building. I've been playing this game since I was very young, I learned everything that I know from it. If requeues didn't exist and I could get a true winrate from the start, it wouldn't show a true number of my skills now. Once upon a time I didn't win most of my games, I won very few of them when I started out.
I used to literally queue until I got one the one theme I really wanted that I had been practicing in customs, sometimes I still do.

Maybe one day I'll try and get 100 wins without requeuing so I can see my true stats, but in the end its Just Build, you only have so much control over your winrate. So, maybe take it with a grain of salt next time you see the people in top 10 with winrates under 50, the best players I have ever met don't have pristine stats.

I think the way to get above 80 is no req, solos just to not risk evil teammate but make sure the lobby is full. NA at 4pm-7pm since if you go later or earlier there is either too little players or too many bad lobbies.

You also have to do a cute style, like blocky and kawaii, I'll send reference images.

People don't dislike the spam style, it's just that it's either overwhelming so they vote meh to win, or they don't understand it because the back isn't filled in and looks "unfinished" so they lower their votes.

The way I play with new players is to just tell them to do really hard stuff. I tell them to make a leg on this one animal I built and make it look good. And then I tell them next round to make the tree I made last round.

Repeat that for a while and the first things you have built with them will look weird, sure. But it's part of learning. After a little while, you will have a seasoned teammate. Giving them the easy stuff makes them learn much slower. If they genuinely DO NOT know how to make the thing you are asking them, you can show them a little but don't do it all for them.

I usually lead because I don't have many people who can lead. Like making a dragon. If it's something I know they can do on their own completely I'll let them, but I don't want my lead asking me to make the wings and limbs. I want them to lead so that the background I am building can be just as crazy as the main build.
Fancybiggy is my teammate for example, we trade leads because we know we can both do everything necessary, and if we really can't we know how to improvise.
