there was an old style where people would just spam as much stuff as possible into a build even if it looked bad because quantity over quality building used to be really popular
and then people realized it was literally just spam and stopped doing it
thats what the build i posted up there was

while it may not look bad as a whole, each individual part is flawed in some way texture wise (like using the melons with completely unbalanced grass textures to mix with it), straight up just physically impossible (like the the fences attempting to act as vines but they are floating instead of following the laws of gravity) or filled with holes top to bottom, maybe even all 3 combined.

most of these builds are near perfect but if it had to change one thing i’d say for the build with the tent spend less time on the actual tent and more on the depth of the environment, as well as adding things such as stone and tuff to emulate rocks and more diversity in the block pallette, otherwise perfect builds absolutely love them

custom trees do also help to fill “empty space”

rocks and trees can fill empty space and even if you don’t add depth depth you can fill the space which can act as depth

Ok this there a few mistakes on both sides first on the left side the bushes are not detailed and not randomly placed no trees etc and u can rlly compare them cus the other one had a whole cliff now to the right random unnecessary details like dripstone or grey carpet but overall Ik what u mean

the drip stone adds more depth and overall more texture making the mountain more detailed adding more than just the block pallette, the stone pressure plates and buttons also add depth due to the different sizes of stones and rocks, im not comparing the WHOLE build im comparing the ground on both builds

if he added things such as the pressure plates, buttons, and trees i think the overall build would go from a 6/10 to an 8/10

You seem to be great at organics in specific! I recommend hopping into some customs and using real life images for better and quicker understanding, sometimes even getting one picture with the bone structure of an animal and one with it's full body can help a lot. If you can perfect this, you can make practically anything super fast.
Once you understand an organic, you can make them in your own styles and poses, as unique as you like. These are the steps I take when I learn a new animal.

Ehh, I disagree. While it IS important to add that in a build, it becomes really repetitive fast. Every build you create will have giant walls with similar pallets, quantity pushing far past quality. If he becomes legendary at building that tent that you want him to minimize, it'll spread fast. Instead of each of his builds having a low-quality main subject in the middle of the build and similar terrain over and over again, he can prioritize the theme and create unique and incredible main builds that add depth in themselves, like giant dragons or beautiful fish.

Terrain is a skill that is important to learn, but it can't take over every build you make. It is a component in a much wider range of important things, balance is key. I used to make builds that were super terrain based like you are mentioning, and I found myself falling into the same trap of builds that we're cool as a singular thing, but when I showed my collection they were kind of all just the same.

Here are my old builds from about a year ago, some were built with fancybiggy. Looks cool as one thing, but then you start to realize that in every one of these builds i did the same palm trees. The same sand. The same stone. It was repetitive and incredibly hard to get out of once I got into it. I mean, it definitely has quantity but the quality I have now that I broke away from that is far better.

Block pallets are important too, but you fall into a cycle where you are SO busy worrying about the terrain, that you neglect the main topic of the build. Your pallets themselves become plain because you reach the point where you just start grabbing similar stuff for the purpose of speed.

The value of terrain changes when you do duo builds, since it splits up the workload so it's slightly different I think.

Basically what I'm saying is this guy is talented outside of building in a boxed mindset where there HAS to be terrain, where space HAS to be filled in, where if you don't have enough quantity there wont be quality. And I really respect it, and I want him to grow that best he can. Terrain is important, but it should not overtake or be what you spend the most time on if the theme isn't calling for it.

Also, it's important to note not only the palletes are important but the shape you make your terrain in. Both of these things combined are very easy to get stuck in and not focus on what's really important.

I can do it but in like 7 minutes which leaves less time other other things

I do block spam when doing it or is it just practice
