I feel like the new update changed what sg used to be. Before it was probably one of more skill based games for pvp on the hive (not that strategies didn't exist in it, but sg really did help a lot of people get better at their combat). Now the more gimmicky items like tnt and webs are starting to make a lot of players become reliant on them for to get a kill. Sure, these items probably make sg a lot easier for new players to get started but overall I don't think it's helping it. With that said though, my problem really isn't with the items themselves just with how frequent they are, last time I played nearly half the chests had some sort of TNT in it and I'm starting to notice a shift in the way players are fighting. Still, I don't think SG is ruined and can still be enjoyed

i agree and disagree with you- i think the boomboxes and cobwebs sorta help the running simulator issue we had before the update but they are extremely frequent. i usually have 20 cobwebs and like 10 boomboxes before deathmatch starts, not to mention the ones i’ve used during the match- and it also doesn’t help that players might rely on them to try to kill you instead of actually running up to you which is something i get super frustrated with

i’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing that they’re so frequent but i do tend to have a ton by the time i get to the final 4 players

What is the strat for survival games because I want to start playing it but i just get bodied but im really good at pvp as i play alot of skywars.

There isnt really any strategy, you can plan a route, but its mainly just pvp

The pvp is different from skywars

In skywars it’s a lot of hitting and block placement, in sg it’s more about cobwebs and bow shots

there isn't really any strategy, SG is a game of skill more than planning and strategizing

just be good with a few things and you'll do good
-be able to quickly loot chests so you're not under geared at the start
-be good at pvp
-know how to do well in free for all fights for deathmatch
-know hiding spots in the maps to hide when ur low

also pvp in sg is very different from skywars so it also takes a decent bit of practice to get good in SG...as well as more of the good players playing SG compared to skywars with far few good players

Plus In skywars you tend to have wayyyyyy better gear than what you get in sg

also, be able to realize when and when you’re not going to be able to take a fight. i’ve lost so many fights to thinking “hey, i can definitely take this person on who has better armor than me” but let me tell you the armor is so much different in SG than in SW and you will lose health a lot quicker
