I got chased the whole round by only one guy, then surpringly I killed him, and then the guys on DM were a lot more prepared

I barely had armor

He had full chain with iron helmet, at the start of the game

A great idea would be regulate the speed based on gear

I know Hive is giving the best effort possible to SG

But it is still really annoying to getting chased the entire round when you have no gear

I thought the new SG update would bring SG up from being a smaller less competitive game mode to a bigger one used by players looking for a challenge but the update didn’t seem to change much in the long run. For a day or two the game mode was transformed with new players that had never shown any interest in the game mode playing it but a few days later everyone got tired of it and went back to playing SW and TW I am a big SG fan and don’t understand what makes players not find as much enjoyment is SG compared to the other big pvp game modes on the Hive.

Yesterday I found myself with 8 kills and still 8 players left. I imagined it to be the perfect opportunity to set a new kill record for myself so I tried hunting everyone down - my current is 12. I won, however the player that got second place found a few players that I couldn't find. So I ended up with 12 kills...again.

I hated using boomboxes. But then I realized that they were here to stay so I decided to use them since others would...and now I use them to my advantage

I think it’s because of the fact a lot of people came to see what was new. The more people check out the new update, more and more good pvpers and sweats appear. Making it less fun to play for many people who just wanted to check out what was new. After a while, newbies were tired of getting killed first every round and stopped playing the game. More players leave causing more players, sweats and newbies to leave due to the fact lobbies were filling up slower. Causing it to decline again.

And even if somehow the people were patient enough to not ragequit and get killed first every round, the update is just another trend. It would have died anyway

Even if the player count has dropped significantly slow filling lobby’s is not a problem they still fill in twenty seconds tops and there is no way that alone would drive someone away from the game mode.

The reason i like and sg but the reason others dont is because it is mostly pvp. TW has tons of game sense and non-pvp strategy (to get treasures and gear), and SW has the void so that even noobs can one tap when needed. Either way, SG is all pvp. Additionally, chest location is memorized, putting new players at a disadvantage. They might finlly find a bit of gear in 1 chest by the time I (level 23, not an sg main) might have full chain with some diamond stuff. it just stacks it in the favor of the experienced, while many other gamemodes have more factors in favor of the new

Adding more strategy and less pvp does not favor towards the new though because no one is naturally going to know how to play a game of TW or SW if they have no experience with the game mode but on the other hand it is very possible to naturally be good at pvp which is why I think SG favors both the new and the experienced but still people that are more experienced tend to play TW and SW more.

while there is a lot of truth in this, i think i could also argue the opposite: when i was new, SG was easier than TW or SW. i’m not a pro at this game in the slightest but i find myself still getting good gear even without knowing where all the chests are (i would never be able to memorize all that) i think overall SG was just as enjoyable to me as a newcomer as it is now as someone who knows how to play the game

it’s a really well balanced game for both newcomers and old players to enjoy... i mean when i first started playing skywars all i mined was gold for like the first 5 levels of playing haha

Sg is alot of strategy, depends how u think about it. You can't run very far in tw or sw if you don't have blocks, but theoretically you can run forever in sg, meaning it's still easier to stay alive and have a chance in deathmacth. Cobwebs are a strategy. Taking advantage of the terrain is a strategy. High ground with bow is a strategy. Trapping(using cobwebs where the bounce pads are) is a strategy. There's alot more than you think
