Not necessarily, it gives incentive to those who can find the level two chests hidden throughout the map and or finding the spots of the cache cows as well, a lot of times it’s just up to how well you play because even with a diamond sword a lot of people die to a good player who may just have an iron sword or an axe

For a basic understanding, the best way to get yourself XP is to hunt for kills ASAP, preferably at mid once grace period ends. That, and the one thing that helps getting better at PVP in general is practicing your aim to ensure it's on the player you're trying to attack
