How something is arranged. In this case, how the floors are arranged and connected.

There are few things that make a map good, like coins, gimmicks, and layouts. I want to focus on the layout first. I want to arrange the rooms and sections such that it's unique in positioning AND tolerable to maneuver in gameplay.

Castle town splits the area into two sections, the cave and the armory. You have 4 paths connecting to each of them, in which 2 of them will be removed if it's flooding.

Backrooms are mostly hallways, with some rooms here and there.

The warehouse is one HUGE area, with 2 rooms on the side.

Now... With those being said... I think it's better to ask, what NOT to include as a level layout..?

most logical route would just be running in a circle unless you’re cutting through the middle
