Yes, it's not the best, but not everyone likes being murderer.
Would you rather he have stayed and not killed anyone, or that he leaves and a new game starts?
The game might have ended fast, but it's not a long wait for a new game. It's a loner wait when the murderer doesn't kill anyone at all and you're watching people shoot each other, and at the end of the game, murderer is up there with zero kills.

It's very hard to standout from the rest if you are skilled at the game

Maybe that's something which they are trying to maintain on the bedrock edition to keep it fair and enjoyable for skilled and unskilled players

but some minor changes could make it more fair for skilled players

but an example is increasing the sheriff's hp, 2 or 3 hits instead of one
while making the throwable weapon faster for the murderer, and increasing the cooldown on it

these changes would just make being an innocent really really hard imo

instead of asking for the game to be changed I'd recommend trying to adapt to the game the way it is instead

but there's definitely room to make it slightly more competitive while maintaining being "well-balanced" as you said

if the goal is to keep it as welcoming & friendly to new players as possible, then yes it has succeeded

I would argue that not only had it succeeded, it had exceeded in that regard (until prestige made the game very sweaty). However, not only is it very noob-friendly, mm also has a very high skill ceiling. If you don't believe me, then look at the difference between anyone else and those very very cool people like zF1ghtmqre, kplxzy, and Tlit rc (the second and third are controller but still better than most kbm players) (just to name a few, others exist like D0p5 and cakelicus).

There are a few problems with the game (the tracker being mid, glass panes and zapper interactions, office) but for the most part the game is very very good (tho sometimes it does get a tad boring).
