Well

Hide and Seek is a game where you try to hide from the seekers and as a hider you get a wooden sword like you said, which is a way to mess/kill the seekers to make there job harder. As seeker you are trying to kill/find the hiders that are either running or hiding around the map. And taunts are basically hints to the seekers to give them some type of help/hint of where you are. The bigger the taunt the more your being exposed or whatever you wanna call it. And taunts also give you the most XP. Hopefully that helps a bit lol.
