Okay... My friend group does it because without the armor, the Hider with a sword can deal half a heart of damage easier. Which is the same amount of damage a seeker can deal by punching.
My friends like to punch eachother and either see who has better aim, who can kill who faster, and to play tag. Plenty of reasons really.
But that's just my friend group, everyone has their own reasons.
