Considering i used to get 150-5000 ping I could say I'm a laggy player. The disadvantages are true, little chance to beat records with that (yet, still possible). But other way that's not justified to say that u can't be on top with those.
It's still about how consistent u are, take the finish rank (i.e. podium), time range (i.e. +1~2 sec off the wr), or death per game.

Using LB as a sprint key is an interesting idea, I could try it but I'm used to just clicking left stick to toggle sprint. Why use the trigger tho to jump? It seems much more inconsistent and RB feels comfortable
