Steampunk and synthwave exist, if the deaths feel like they can just keep killing you because some of them decide to target the player who's been the fastest runner till like 2-3 portals, they can just loop kill you between the second last and before the last portal, while on survival that's usually easier to escape (unless you're being targeted the whole game)
