With all this talk about updates to gameplay, I have a few ideas that could help

An issue I see is that most games end up going the same way. i.e: get blocks, rush your neighbor, bridge to the next island, repeat

Often times, the other teams' treasures end up having little cover

and a lot of them get destroyed very early at the beginning

Most likely because they didn't really have a lot of time to prepare

idk if that’s an issue, much of treasure wars is supposed to be fast paced

I know that, but I think right now it might be too fast paced

because theres very little reason to play defensive

with the way the current meta works

I like the idea of having traps in the mix

it means that players who are playing aggressively would need to think of better tactics and outsmart their opponents by finding ways around their traps

and not just mindlessly rush in

because thats what most players do nowadays

theres very little the defensive player can do when you, the offensive player, went around every diamond gen and ended up getting iron armor, kb boomboxes, and an iron sword

Another thing I was thinking of was giving more time for players to prepare at the start

i.e: Adding some form of "Defensive period"

Giving them items like maybe a wooden sword, a leather helmet & boots, and 16 blocks of wool could help

The defense period could last for maybe like 20 seconds or so

Enough time for players to buy a few items or gear up

before they go rushing each other

Speaking of items, another issue I see with Treasure Wars is that the item pool is too small

I’d say the item pool in treasure wars is fine

a bit balanced ig

I think part of the reason why people find it so boring is that there's very little items to work with

very little room for strategy

If we want Treasure Wars to be more than just "Get blocks, rush neighbor, bridge to next island, repeat", we need to expand item variety

Even with the current amount of items, its not exactly balanced

I mean, you can get 6 snowballs for 1 emerald

which is enough snowballs to very easily knock someone off a bridge/tower, or get easy combos on them

And a lot of the "unique" items in Treasure Wars only help the people who run away a lot

i.e: Chorus fruit & KB boomboxes

and theres also ender pearls as well

which are a big help to runners, especially in SkyWars, but we're talking about Treasure wars here

The only ways to stop runners right now are sniping them off bridges with projectiles like snowballs or bows

but there's no real way to stop runners in their tracks when they're running away

and bring them towards you

When I started doing this round, I was being chased by gold within a few seconds, but I was be able to get iron armor to scare the player away, but the player isn’t here, I started to collect more emeralds to get diamond armor, diamond sword, and snowballs, when using the snowballs, when the blue team is searching for me, I was shaking in fear and sneaking to make the blue team confused where I’m at, it turns out the snowballs and the golden apples saved me, and I finally won! So it’s now possible to beat treasure wars with high level players when you are at low level.
