Mindlessly grinding does eventually lead to practice

I'll admit it's slower but the practice eventually comes to them

I wouldn't say so if you play a lot you come across different play styles

Degradation happens when players don't play

So grinding keeps them at a static level and helps them a bit skill wise but it doesn't make them worse I would say

I used to think like you actually taking it too serious, calculating everything, trying to get to the peak I could. Then I realized it didn't matter there's no point when it's not fun and the community just doesn't have enough people that think that way to make it fun to think that way

Not everyone's playing to become a pro, hell majority of the "pros" just play to play and they themselves don't know how they got where they are

We sacrifice our time and resources, take various positions, create real and fake threats, in TW there's also an outstanding move that you can perform right now (it feels even freer than chess, because you're not in a strict 8x8 grid like in chess), and yes, in TW you also need to plan your moves in advance
