I agree, cats arent to high maintenance depending on what breed you get. They arent to great companions too. My dad used to absolutely hate cats and didnt want them but we got one and he is a full time cat lover now. As @supple cradle said, if he isnt allergic you really should get one! 😃

if you do, maybe look into breeds that are fine to be by themselves, dont want much attention but love people anyways. So if u need some time to yourself they dont mind. Or go gambling and get a shelter cat lol.

Sorry for the delay and that this is so long, but I told my neighbor (who takes care of stray cats and takes in stray kittens) about your kitten and she told me what she would do.
I wrote her advice below:

Step 1: You get a small bottle and put around ⅔ of milk and ⅓ of water in it, heat it up ever so slightly.
If the kitten doesn't want drink, make the hole in the bottle a little bit bigger.
Step 2: have the kitten stand up while feeding it.
Gently support cat so they don't fall over.
Note: DO NOT have the kitten lay down or have its belly facing up while feeding, or the milk will go in the lungs, you can tell if that happened if the milk comes out of kitten nose.
Step 3: So usually the mother cat would do this next step after nursing her kittens, but since you don't have the mother cat you'll have to do this.
If your kitten can use a litter box you don't need to do this.
Once the kitten is done eating, flip the cat over so belly faces ceiling.
Ware rubber gloves, get paper towels.
Rub around on the spot where the kitten urinates until it starts to go.
Use paper towels to clean.
This is because kittens don't have strong enough muscles for that until they're older.
