Snakes are just precieved as scary because of all the myths that go around, which many of them are not true. Snakes, despite if you find them cute or not, are extremely important to our earth

Most people are scared of snakes because it was simply taught to them and they grew up in a community that fears snakes, and then the fear and myths just keep spreading and spreading

I think I only find the poisonous ones scary since they can be life threatening.

Fun fact! Not many snakes are actually poisonous, as if something is poisonous it will harm you only if you eat it. I think what you are trying to say is the venomous snakes, as those one could be dangerous. A lot of venomous snakes can't even kill with their venom, as it is used only for their prey! However, some snakes do have venom deadly enough to kill humans, but these creatures are prey animals and only bite out of self defense, infact, most people bitten by venomous snakes are because they purposely were trying to harm it or interact with it. Another big one is stepping on snakes (pretty reasonable for them to bite you if you step on them, I think that would be a pretty scary experience). So while venomous snakes can be a bit scary when thinking about that aspect, they don't seek out to hurt humans, and most snake species aren't venomous/don't have venom harmful to humans :)

Many snakes are unfortunately killed by being mistaken as a venomous species, which is such a shame because even venomous snakes are a very important part of earth and ecosystems
