It was what Wily last did to Rock to cause his "death", he heavily damaged him, getting to his IC Chip.

And even after Light patched it up and Rock "woke up" from his death, it still continues to bleed.

It's emotional/physiological damage rather than just physical

How is this not art? I can perfectly see what this is expressing. The impulsiveness of Rock to eat your little met version shows that he is drived by his desires, and he's going to do anything to satisfy them, no matter how innocent the victim is, in this case, the small Metste. This could totally show some people in the society would do anything to satisfy their selfish objectives, even cruelly hurting people that shouldn't be involucrated, and yet, knowing that, they don't seem very affected.
