Unless you ask Jon Notveidt, in which case Dissection was never a black metal band and was just a death metal band.

But most people would disagree with him and say Dissection is meloblack/melodeath.

Ye, a lot of Muslim countries seem to have crackdowns on metalheads at random intervals. Apparently according to some Syrian guys in that scene, the government used to periodically arrest a bunch.

Actually really important early death metal band and they were Christian.
