how many of you are gonna keep promising to make rec room alternatives that'll never actually leave the gc

like every little kid with a fantasy

its just the same promises

none of them have actually shown they are unique

what made rec room unique was its concept now everyone wants to base their game off it, what's happened to creativity?

i'd love for people to take inspiration from rec room and develop their own unique concepts

it's just that every one of these rec room-likes i've seen is being posted by a 15 year old with no game development experience asking you to join a discord server

people need to be creative and come up with something never seen before to actually have a chance in this dying market

i feel like they should atleast supply people with proof of concept if they're gonna promise a game lol

most will give up in the first week when they find out it takes actual skill to make a game

it's like the 2 week minecraft phase but on steroids man

they want to have money like rec room but dont understand how a business works nor game dev

same with these people trying to save rec room

the same people who think currently buying tokens will save rec room are the same people promising to make games better than rec room

i feel bad for all of the children who've spent money on tokens this past week under the assumption its helping rec room

meta is pulling out and they are like 70% of the market

AR is the future

Rec room shutting down is proof of it seeing where the devs are going

to work for snap inc on their AR program

unfortunately the only vr game i see lasting for a good while now is vrchat

vrchat is quite fun if your in the right worlds

ive had fun with friends in it but rec room is just diffrent

vrchat has great people in it but rec rooms "vibe" is just perfect man

this UGC shit is just terrible for the game, dont shoot me but seeing furry avatars in Rec room its just wrong

same with roblox

i dont want to see these futuristic fursuits all over the place

seeing any of the ugc shit in rec room was a turn off for me

this UGC stuff started when i quited rec room

a large part of the appeal for rec room (i think) is how stylized it is

ugc content looks out of place 99% of the time

rec room was unique it had like a cozy childlike experience to it but its just shit now with UGC

the t shirts i can understand but the other stuff its just wrong

the simple whiteboard shirt maker thing was fine

that thing broke for me like a year ago n im still not sure if it was ever fixed

might be a me problem tho

Like there’s already a build with multiplayer and basic customization
