I heard of this mod for Rec room. Currently trying to join the discord to see if it's legit or not.
It's based on the older versions of rec room and might survive the shut down due to it having its own servers to work on.

the servers get overwhelmed pretty often nowadays (because the discord server recently went from 4k to 14k people, so plenty of people are trying to join radium) but im sure theyre working on it
you should probably check the game out for yourself either way, they just fixed signing up for it, but you will have to start over from scratch, though they announced in the announcement that they might try to implement some data transferring (your inventions and rooms from Rec Room)
i think its pretty hopeful overrall
though maybe its better to join after rec room shuts down, maybe by the time they'll have more stable servers and website

Well, the devs want to keep rec room up by they can't. I think the legal stuff is going to come Post-shut down. Club penguin as private servers owned by people. I think that's what they're Simi trying to do. And Disney didn't try to sue (based on my knowledge).
I heard that snap hired some of rec rooms employees.
So I think would more likely (at the current moment) is its going to be a 20% (still high) of a lawsuit or 80% nothing.
The worry is the server gets shut down with rec room because of the game files.
Idk can't say for sure
