I’ve been thinking about the future of Rec Room, and the math seems simple: with over 500k daily users, a small $1 contribution from just half the player base would secure the game's sustainability. I value this platform so much that I’d personally commit $10–$20 monthly to help with server costs and development. For me, this is the only game that justifies owning a headset. While I’m not a fan of the broader Meta ecosystem, Rec Room gets the social aspect exactly right. It’s a shame to see such a great game struggling.

AI (Roomie) DRAINS money and I mean DRAIN
It's not struggling it's just gone bro
Then let’s get rid of it
It’s gone because they’ve been struggling to make the numbers work?

I want RecRoom back.
it is rec room’s fault. Rec Room pushed out too many free things they gave out too many free tokens and we should’ve never introduced AI to Rec Room because AI is expensive. It is inefficient and just absolutely useless.
tuff profile
even if it's the most successful gofundme ever, it will only be enough to run rec room for a few months
Yeah, but we can just keep the go fund me on forever and have a reset every month and have a goal of what we need to make
no bro it just isnt realistic, local servers would be the best option but that is still unlikely
Why would I wanna play with people locally?
That makes no sense
It would probably be even smarter if we made it to where you had to host your own rec room servers on your own PC
It would be more secure too
thats what that is
local servers is ran by the players
it would increase latency and ping a ton tho
True and you can’t have that in a VR game
Everything has to be ultrafast or you’re gonna get motion, sickness, and lag
no it would only affect communication and loading times
all thats based off your device
Yes, and it would affect how it looked to other players whenever you moved it would affect the predictions of their logic. Whenever you throw items it would affect everything.
