I've been playing on SteamVR for a while to prepare for the removal of the meta PC version of Rec Room and I realized something (The Meta keyboard is 10x better than the SteamVR keyboard) the performance on Rec Room is like 8 times better than SteamVR Rec Room. My dormroom runs at a higher fps and I can actually play Merry Midway at a full 90 fps in Paintball instead of a WAY lower fps I get in SteamVR. Also I get the enjoyment of being able to press the menu button to spam close and open my watch. The only changes to the meta PC version of Rec Room to make it feel ultimately better than SteamVR is making everything have more a vibrant visual, and make the vibrations more intense as they are way softer compared to SteamVR and Standalone. One last thing, my hands are also delayed less and feel better compared to SteamVR and paintball and lasertag feel more natural and better like they do in standalone compared to SteamVR.

Of course this version of Rec Room is pointless to SteamVR people but if you are Meta Horizon Wired PCVR player like me, playing the Meta PC version of Rec Room feels way better and you actually experience less lagspikes as well.
Do you have proof of this?
Not really but im playing without steam right now and It just feels way better. All this information is just from my personal experiences and details I discovered myself.
I got the same problem and it annoys me so much that they will force Quests link players to trash SteamVR… like what the heck does RecRoom really gonna lose money if they keep meta quest desktop support? Are we serious?
It’s the price of server/platform upkeep and labor costs
It really sucks that this platform is gonna be discontinued. Now I'll be forced to fall into the same performance problems people always complain about.
