They should change how vc banning works

I was in a bar just going around talking to people with my friend and someone dressed up as Adolf came up to us and I said something like oh there's Hitler or why are you dressed up as Hitler you know addressing the fact that someone is dressed up as a dictator which is against COC I think the context of the conversation should matter I mean I see kids screaming the N word or calling people the f slur and I never seen them get vcb it's kinda a problem I honestly believe more people dislike voice moderation than like it

RR Voice moderation uses AI, it’ll only ban you if you say a word which is on its filter. It doesn’t matter if it’s take out of context or not either.

The reason why players don’t really get vc banned either is because they have account rep. (This is what I heard and I believe it’s true)

Basically you start at 100 and it depletes when you get warned or kicked a lot. The only way to boost your rep is by getting cheers hence why you hear a lot of people saying to cheer them after they say something bad.

Also vc bans take around 48 hours to happen. You could’ve said something 2 days ago and it could’ve voice banned you now.

Please remember that their voice moderation uses AI and we all know how crappy AI is when it’s used for moderation.

There’s nothing you can really do so you just have to wait out the ban

I always treat it like a YouTube monetization because of stuff like that. I think the Roomie's AI chat gave me the best insight into what their logging is like, because it's a text-to-voice kinda thing, like our actual moderation, and it also goes into the system, remembering every word you say, but you can actually see it for yourself.

48 hours is a very rare occurrence, it almost always happens way before the 24 hour mark

First of all not everything that guy said was true...
It doesn't have to be a slur, words like fuck and shit get flagged too, it just depends on a few things

• The amount of times you said it with in a timeframe,
• and how dense your previous voice moderation history is.

Theres plenty of people who just dont get vcb, they cuss often, they just dont do it alot.
I get it, I wish I could say whatever I wanted without having to worry about my voice perms going away for hour or more.

I'm going to break the VMS down, over time your account builds moderation history, Rec Room keeps track of all the reports & flags that are put on you.
The more dense your VMS flags are, the more sensitive you become to a VCB,
you get flagged for language that violates the RR COC.

So a low level account for example, would have little to-no moderation history, but someone like you or me, who has been on the game longer, will have a denser moderation history with more flags, so we're more sensitive to getting penalties, like VCBs.

It's a snowball effect, builds up over time, but also melts away.
I'm going to give a real example from my own experience,
prier to this I went without any penalties for longer than a month

• 1, was a dorm warning
• 2, also a dorm warning
• 3, I got a 1 HR VCB
• 4, also a 1 HR VCB
• 5, another 1 HR VCB
• 6, eventually 24 HR VCB
• 7, again 24 HR VCB
• 8, again 24 HR VCB...
  ^ 8 was placed on me because I said one word "f###" it was the first and only word I said in a public, almost instantly after I spoke I got the 24 HR VCB.
  1-7 were not the same as 8, 1 was a result of me swearing and making distasteful jokes for over hours.

• 1, took many VMS flags & low density for a warning
• 8, took a single VMS flag & high density for a 24 HR VCB

After 8 penalties, I had learned to keep my mouth clean, after some more time, about a week or so of not saying anything that violated the COC, my VMS flag density went down, "melted away"
But do you see the pattern? It builds up then goes down over time...

3 things to keep in mind are

• that the VMS does not work instantly after you say something, it could've been something you said hours ago
• the VMS doesn't have "context" and doesn't need it
• you don't need to be a saint, just dont trigger the VMS snowball

I understand your frustration, I went through the same thing, but I just explained to you how it works, so you can have a better understanding on how to stop it.

Yeah that's how it works, and the more you look get attacked the harder it hits
and it gets more sensitive
