(I'm too lazy to punctuate any of this so strain your eyes) A while back I questioned the possibility of a turn based game and would like to attempt it my friends made an average recroom BYO as many do and when I would mess around with it with them I noticed the lack of a proper system and it was basically glorified action figures but more poseable the character kind of look like Roblox figures with two legs arms a torso and a head then would give them abilities after designing the character and we would pit them against each other I disliked the lack of system because someone makes an op guy that one shots everyone or something silly like that then someone makes one even stronger and I am a bit rpg fan so I thought maybe I could make a map take the models make some enemy guys and add some health poi's and all that good stuff it was rough but it worked and was fun we've been evolving it for a while but it is stuck in limbo because there was no circuits and combat was slow moving all the limbs and blah blah blah and I want to get into scripting but I don't have a computer so I want to learn circuits on recroom and make a turn based rpg with that as its foundation

Actually questions/ideas start here the former was just backstory of how it came to be
I want to make a turn based rpg that has random encounters enemies drops status effects weapons abilities spells all the fantastic fantasy stuff I also need a way to keep the characters and be able to animate them for abilities from a UI during combat without taking away the BYO style I spoke of earlier movement has always been an issue because of the limbs and no circuits the "gm"/person who made the map and things in it had to do everything from enemies drops etc and without circuits it's a hassle I want to refine it and make it an actual rpg think you're average rpg maker game that's high fantasy and smooth to play but honestly I suck with circuits and have no clue where to start and I know this will probably take a long time to flesh out but it's all harmless fun in the end and I'm fine putting in time and effort any help on how to start or do this would be appreciated
Turn based rpg system
animations, no
unless you like made a rig
and then set the pos of the byo
to it
I have absolutely no clue what any of that means...
ok right
the idea is (dunno if itll work)
you make a simple human esque set of lines
like a stick figure
and put animations on that
but every frame set pos of arms legs torso and head to the position of the body parts
So like make a little stick figure to be set as the starting position and animate around that so it's able to move around?
yes
you can use it as an animation preset
unless you want them to manually animate it
Ah I see thank you I'll be sure to mess around with that
then js add animation components and relate it to the system
