Are Nintendo switch and Xbox different versions?

Just trying to play w my bf and it’s says I can’t because it says he’s on a newer version, I’ve tried updating but it says I’ve got the newest version

Yes they are different versions, Nintendo switch has a rule poilcy that when ever there a new update to a game, the company should review the update and the changes that has been made to the game. The only problem is (which can leave players behind updates) Nintendo only updates the games in the switch once a MONTH, even tho it has been almost more 2 months that switch made a update to rec room. That is why you don't see Nintendo players in the newer versions cause all of them are left behind in the old versions. Which is a problem that Nintendo should fix because Rec Room is also effected that Switch players are left behind the game.

My recommendation is if you want to play with your BF use a another device NOT Nintendo Switch (It sucks on Updates😑)

I have it on my phone but it overheats when I’m otp and playing anything
